CYA NELSON DREW

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

 

Cyan Design Studio is owned by Cya Nelson Drew, an illustrator and graphic designer with 20 years of experience in the field and a life-long passion for all things creative.

​

Prior to forming her company, Cya worked as the art director for a notable design firm in the Los Angeles area. During her time there, Cya partnered with such clients as the Disney Channel, Honda/Acura, Nintendo, and the MGM Grand Las Vegas.

 

In 2006, Cya had a near-death encounter with a deadly jellyfish in the Australian waters. This led to a change in life perspective and with this, a desire to create her own company and utilize her well-developed style to create her own niche. As such, Cya formed Cyan Design Studio and returned to her favorite city, Santa Barbara. The flexibility of running a small firm has allowed Cya to focus on select clients and projects that translate into successful partnerships.

 

Cya’s experience includes a broad range of national and international projects — from branding, illustration, and print collateral, to websites and event graphics. Examples of Cya’s work have appeared in Communication Arts, HOW, Graphics, Rockport books and various other graphic arts publications.

MARI BELLEFEIULLE

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

 

Mari Bellefeuille was born and raised in beautiful Santa Barbara, California. She spent three and a half years discovering her passions within an extensive design program at Azusa Pacific University and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors in Graphic Design. Her experiences at APU changed the way she viewed what her career as a designer could look like and offer.

 

Shortly after graduating from APU, Mari began working as a junior designer at Cyan Design Studio where she was taken under the wing of the very talented Cya Nelson Drew. As the first official employee of Cyan Design Studio, Mari was able to fine tune her skills as a designer in a more intimate setting. She continues to embrace the diversity of her role in the company and makes the most of her experiences. She enjoys the fluidity and creativity that the graphic design world has to offer and is constantly amazed by the role that design plays in every day life.

 

Mari has been happily living and working in Santa Barbara ever since and looks forward to the adventures and challenges that lie ahead.
